Portland High School students will hold an Engineering Open House on Thursday, May 26, at which visitors can get a firsthand look at the challenging engineering projects students have been working on, including robotics, reverse engineering and 3D printing.

PHS is now in the third year of a new engineering program developed by Project Lead The Way (PLTW), the nation’s leading provider of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs for K-12 curricula. Students apply engineering, science, math and technology to solve complex problems in a real-world context.

Projects being showcased will involve robotics, hydraulic power, engineering design, computer programming, reverse engineering and 3D printing. Visitors are invited to come and see the projects, meet the students, and learn firsthand how PHS is preparing students for STEM opportunities after graduation.
