Jesse Robinson, a math and leadership coach with nearly 20 years experience in curriculum, assessment and teaching, has been selected as the district’s new Director, Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction. The appointment was recently announced by Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Melea Nalli.

“I am really excited about what Jesse can bring to our whole district when it comes to curriculum, assessment and instruction,” Nalli said. “Jesse holds high expectations for all kids and knows that they can all get there. I think that commitment and conviction will be great for our instructional work across K-12.”

Robinson’s most recent experience includes working as a math and leadership coach at the Portland Public Schools and other school districts in Missouri, California, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. She also worked at a variety of schools in the Boston area, in positions that included being dean of curriculum and instruction; academic achievement manager; director of curriculum, assessment, and placement; and dean of support services. She also was a high school math teacher in San Jose, Calif.

Robinson holds a master’s degree in the School Leadership Program, Principal Strand, Harvard Graduate School of Education; a master’s degree in teaching secondary history from Boston College; and a bachelor’s degree in history from Oberlin College. She’s conversationally fluent in Spanish and likes to hike.

Robinson fills a position formerly held by Angela Atkinson Duina, who took a principalship position outside the district.
