City Approves Nearly $3 Million for School Projects

The Portland City Council has approved a Capital Improvement Plan for the 2013 fiscal year that includes nearly $3 million for the Portland Public Schools.

The plan provides $2 million for school technology.  Other funded projects include:

  • $400,000 to begin designing a new building for Hall Elementary School.
  • $300,000 for preliminary planning and design to improve other elementary schools.
  • $150,000 to replace exterior doors at Deering and Portland high schools.
  • $140,000 to replace the clocks and intercom systems at Portland and Deering high schools.
