The Portland Public Schools and Portland Recreation are sponsoring a “Soccer Highlight Night” on September 6 at multiple locations around the city.

All six of the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams at Deering and Portland High will hold head-to-head competitions.  During half time of the varsity games, the Portland Youth Soccer Association will play small sided games.

Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students and seniors.  All Portland Youth Soccer Association players who wear their 2012 game jerseys will get into the games for free.  Prizes will be raffled.

The schedule is:

• 3:30 p.m. - Junior Varsity Boys Deering @ Portland, Fitzpatrick Stadium.
• 3:30 p.m. - Freshmen Boys Deering @ Portland, Preble Street Field.
• 3:30 p.m. - Freshmen Girls Portland @ Deering, Deering Grass Field.
• 3:30 p.m. - Junior Varsity Girls Portland @ Deering, Memorial Stadium.
• 5:30 p.m. - Varsity Girls Portland @ Deering, Memorial Stadium.
• 7:30 p.m. - Varsity Boys Portland @ Deering, Memorial Stadium.
