FLU CLINIC FOR STUDENTS

Deering High School is offering a free flu clinic for all students on Wednesday, November 27th. Students must have a signed and completed permission form in order to be vaccinated. Vaccination forms including translated forms can be found here.

Eyeglass Fund

is available to pay for glasses for students with no insurance or Maine Care, or who are under insured for glasses.  The fund can also pay for eye exams for students with no insurance. All referrals to use the fund are handled by the school nurse.  If you have any questions, please call Kristin Johnson at 874-8260.

Health Records for graduating seniors...

are given to students in Deering Coaching class.  A letter from the superintendent explains that because of limited storage space, the School Department cannot maintain these records after graduation.  Also, students need access to these records for future school, job, military, and other careers.  The records should be kept in a secure place for future use after graduation from high school.

STUDENT HEALTH CENTER

at Deering High School

Deering has a full time nurse and a part time health assistant to see students for health issues, administer first aid, and respond to emergency situations.

Deering also has physicians who staff a Health Center, and are able to see students who are enrolled - it’s easy - once parents complete the enrollment form, students can be seen at school for a variety of health issues, illnesses, physical exams, and in some cases for immunizations.

Enrolled students can also participate in a Dental Clinic at school for cleaning and sealants if needed.  Appointments are made through the nurse office.
Please call Kristin Johnson, Deering’s nurse, or Wallene Curran, Deering’s health assistant for more info or an enrollment form
