Welcome to the Portland Public Schools' Certification Information page!  Here you will find information regarding how to acquire new State of Maine teacher certification, teacher and ed tech recertification, the recertification 5 year cycle for teachers, and how to acquire a signature for your state recertification paperwork.

Starting September 1, 2010 Portland Public Schools embarked on a new Teacher Recertification plan mandated by the state. The plan was approved by the PEA and Superintendent and adopted by the school board. The plan was to include Professional Learning Communities.
